things to do

Seaside

From sunrise swims to sunset glow, Kamakura beaches hum with waves, cafés, longboards, tide pools, and Fuji views clear days.

Zen Temples

Centuries of Zen invite you to slow down, wander Engaku-ji’s cedar paths, climb Kenchō-ji’s hillside for bay views, linger Hase-dera.

Great Buddha

Kōtoku-in’s Great Buddha rests beneath open sky, serene and timeless. Trace bronze folds, drifting clouds, then warm taiyaki and tea.

Forest Trails

Temple trails weave hills, linking shrines, lookouts, bamboo groves. Daibutsu and Genjiyama offer breezy walks, ending at the beach.

Seasonal Color

Kamakura turns with the seasons: cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, fiery maples, festivals, yabusame archery, and bright, crystal winter skies.

Easy Access

Close to Tokyo, Kamakura is easily reached by JR Yokosuka Line, with scenic Enoden rides. Walkable, safe, and ocean-fresh.

Third 3-month cohort and several more…
Third 3-month cohort and several more planned! The locations are amazing and perfect for slow travel, the kids love the school (which has been consistently great accross locations) and the community makes the experience truly special.
We have done solo trips, but not only the full package (school, housing, co-working) make it really easy the key really is the community - like minded families with diverse backgrounds translate to a lot of fun and also support when needed (it takes a village...)

Amazing Experiences!
We've done 2 summer cohorts in Greece and Portugal and are signed up for our third in Japan. Boundless Life is truly an amazing way to see the world with your family, experience different cultures, meet wonderful new friends, and reconnect as a family. Highly recommend!

TRIP OF A LIFETIME!
Our family of 4 (4 year old son, 2 year old daughter) spent August 2024 in Syros, Greece with Boundless. It was a trip of a lifetime and incredible experience. The kids loved the school and local activities (beach, soccer, ruins, FOOD!) and my wife and I had quality time while they were at school. The coworking space was great, very central and with lots of space and strong WiFi. Overall I highly recommend it.
