With its surrounding castle-topped mountains, verdant forests thick with ferns and lichen, exotic gardens and breath-taking palaces, Sintra is like a page torn from a fairy tale.
Its Unesco World Heritage–listed centre is dotted with pastel-hued dwellings nestled into the valley. Just a short distance away you will find the dramatic Atlantic coastline and Portugal's capital, Lisbon.
Pena Palace
Pena Palace was originally a medieval chapel, and its construction began in the middle ages! The Pena Palace is listed among one of the seven wonders of Portugal and has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Whether you are an avid hiker or someone who wants to meander through the beauty that nature offers, you will enjoy the trails, the vistas, and the mystery of Sintra. So lace up your hiking boots and accept the challenge. You will be richly rewarded!
Quinta da Regaleira
Quinta da Regaleira has acquired many owners over the years, but the most notable “landlord” was Carvalho Monteiro in 1892. Eventually it was bought by the Sintra Town Council in 1997 and has been classified as public interest property and is open to the public. This is one not to be missed!
Monserrate Palace
Monserrate Palace should be considered a 'must-see' in Sintra. The palace itself together with its sprawling and varied gardens and views are a sight to truly behold. Like so many of Sintra's numerous attractions, it has to be seen to be believed.
