A Boundless Life Original | Produced by Emmy Award-Winner Yaron Deskalo
“What would you do if you only had a short time left? Would you stay home—or would you travel the world with your family?”
Today, we’re proud to announce a partnership with Emmy Award-winning producer Yaron Deskalo and the release of his new documentary, Braveheart: a moving short film about courage, clarity, and the transformative power of community. It’s the story of Rudy Gabriel, a Boundless Life parent living with a life-threatening heart condition, and what happens when you realize that right now is the most important time you have.
The Leap Into a Boundless Life
There are many reasons families choose to leap into living boundlessly. Some are navigating career changes, grief, or burnout. Others are seeking a better education for their children, a healthier pace, or a deeper connection to themselves and each other. Whatever the catalyst, they’re all choosing to stop living by default—and start living by design.
For Rudy and his family, it was a medical diagnosis that changed everything.
Rather than retreating into fear or postponing joy, Rudy made a bold decision: to travel the world with his wife and young son, despite needing open-heart surgery. What followed was an unforgettable chapter of life, rooted in joy, community, and the decision to live without delay.
A Story Sparked by Connection
This film didn’t begin in a studio—it began in Estepona, Spain, during a Boundless Life cohort. That’s where Rudy first shared his story, sitting among fellow parents during a session designed for creating connections among participants. One of those parents was Emmy Award-winning filmmaker and Boundless dad, Yaron Deskalo.
“I’d brought a new camera with me to Boundless, hoping to learn some new skills and maybe capture something meaningful,” Yaron shared. “When Rudy told his story, something clicked. Not only was it powerful—Rudy was a great storyteller. I knew right then: this is the story I have to tell.”
The two families—Yaron’s and Rudy’s—grew close during their time together in Estepona. A late-night dinner conversation deepened the bond. What began as casual cohort connection quickly turned into a collaborative creative journey.
With help from fellow Boundless parents, a borrowed location, and a camera he was still learning to use, Yaron captured something raw, human, and emotionally resonant.
“This wasn’t something we set out to make for Boundless. But as the story unfolded, it became clear—it’s about Boundless,” Yaron explained. “This community gave Rudy the space, support, and inspiration to live boldly with his family in the time he had. And to me, that’s what this whole experience is about.”

Every Boundless family has a “why.” A reason they left behind the conventional path in search of something more. “Rudy’s might be the most extreme, but the truth is—we all have something chasing us. A reason to take the leap,” Yaron said. “And Boundless gives you the structure, the freedom, and the people to say yes to that leap.”
