New Tracks, New Destinations, and Deeper Connections

We’re thrilled to announce an updated Trailblazer program for 2025-2026! Following the success of our inaugural cohort, we’ve received incredible feedback from our families and students. Thanks to the program’s strong demand and impact, we’re expanding from one track to three, adding new Latin American destinations and focused Spanish-language and cultural tracks.

For a look back on our original vision, check out last year’s post: Join Us on a New Voyage of Discovery.

What is the Trailblazer Program?

The Trailblazer Program is a transformative travel and learning experience designed specifically for children ages 10-12 and 13-14, allowing them to embark on a full academic year of growth while traveling with their families. Unlike traditional schooling, Trailblazers combines structured academics with place-based, hands-on projects in culturally rich destinations. Through this approach, students not only gain core academic skills but also explore new cultures, build lasting friendships, and develop critical skills that prepare them for a global future.

Expanding to Spanish-Speaking Destinations and a Weather-Optimized Track

Responding to enthusiastic feedback, we’re launching two Spanish-speaking tracks across Spain and Latin America, offering students the chance to deepen their understanding of Spanish language and culture. With locations in Spain, Uruguay, and one more exciting Latin American destination to be revealed, students will naturally build language familiarity while connecting with local communities—a unique way to foster global citizenship.

In addition, we’re introducing a third, weather-optimized track, which includes a stop in beautiful Syros, Greece. This track offers families an alternative journey, focusing on varied climates and locations that support a balanced, comfortable year of exploration.

Welcoming New Age Groups: Ages 10-12 and 13-14

This year, we’re thrilled to expand the Trailblazer program to include a wider age range, inviting students ages 10-12 and 13-14 to join this journey of discovery. By adding another younger classroom grade, we can offer more students the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore in a supportive, traveling cohort.

Additionally, the majority of classroom spots are reserved for families enrolled in the full 9-month program. However, we have up to 6 limited slots available for families wishing to join for a single 3-month cohort, allowing greater flexibility for those unable to commit to the full year.

Building Lasting Friendships and Global Perspectives

One of the key successes of our first Trailblazer year was the bond students built as they traveled and learned together. With small class sizes and consistent peer groups, the Trailblazer experience fosters continuity and connection. This close-knit community, formed through shared discoveries and adventures, enriches students’ lives both personally and academically.

As students move through different countries, they interact with local communities and diverse perspectives, cultivating a strong sense of global citizenship. By engaging in collaborative projects and community exchanges, they gain a nuanced understanding of cultures and develop a lasting global mindset.

Holistic Skill Development with Lifelong Benefits

Trailblazers gain more than academic knowledge—they develop essential life skills. Through Boundless Life’s hands-on approach, students strengthen both hard and soft skills, from teamwork and communication to design thinking and creative problem-solving. Our partnership with TED-Ed also gives students the opportunity to hone their presentation skills, sharing their projects with peers and mentors in powerful ways.

These transformative experiences prepare Trailblazers to approach the world with confidence, adaptability, and a toolkit for navigating today’s interconnected world.

Admissions Process and Timeline

The Trailblazer application process includes two admissions cycles, each involving an application form, video interview, and a virtual project-based case study. The case study allows students to interact and collaborate in a hands-on activity, ensuring their fit with the program’s dynamic and project-based environment.

Round 1:

  • Application deadline: Sunday, December 1, 2024
  • Case Studies: December 2 to 20, 2024
  • Decisions Shared by: February 1, 2025

Round 2:

  • Application deadline: Friday, January 24, 2025
  • Case Studies: February 10 to 14, 2025
