Bali in Indonesia has long been known as a bucket-list destination for tourists, but in recent years it’s also evolved to become a magnet for Digital Nomads. Having announced the summer 2023 launch of Bali as Boundless Life’s 4th location for digital nomad families, let’s delve into why Bali was selected as their first non-European base.
1. Entrepreneur Central
Being able to immerse yourself in a community of like-minded remote workers and entrepreneurs can be hugely rewarding. From a plentiful supply of advice and motivation to a sounding board for issue resolution and ideation - being able to tack into the power of a local hive-mind can be a game-changer!
Our Boundless Life communities come complete with this benefit baked-in across all locations (and the many ideas and collaborations borne out of them are testament to this) but it certainly doesn’t hurt to broaden your circle even further in a place that is designed to be a hot-house for personal and professional growth.
2. Climate
Bali has Goldilocks weather - not too hot, not too cold. The temperature all-year-round is just right at between 22-32℃ (72-90℉). The humidity level is also relatively low when compared to other destinations in Asia.
Fans of identifiable seasons will enjoy spring in October-March, summer in April-September, autumn in October-December and winter in May-September.
3. Natural Wonders
Bali has exceptional and diverse natural beauty. The island is surrounded by coral reefs and has a shoreline that caters for paddlers and splashers through to surfers and divers. Its interior is a marvel of forest covered volcanic craters and iconic terraced paddy fields.
Bali also plays host to a range of rare flora and fauna - including the native (and endangered) Bali Starling and the Komodo Dragon.
The mountains, lakes, waterfalls and rivers present fantastic opportunities for hiking.
4. Amazing Food
If food is your thing you will be amazed at the quality of the food you can savour without spending the big bucks. Check out Pasar Malam (the Night Market) which is a feast for all of your senses. For less adventurous eaters there is a good selection of kid-friendly favourites. Bali also has a fast growing number of vegetarian and vegan venues.
5. A Warm Welcome
Bali is a family-friendly destination and very safe. The Balinese are incredibly hospitable, tolerant, welcoming and appreciate any effort made by visitors to respect some of the customs they deeply value - which they will be happy to share with you. If you worry about potential language barriers you will be pleased to know that English is widely spoken.
